Concerns

Anxiety

Everyone worries. Anxiety is when the worrying stops switching off — when your mind rehearses disasters at 2 a.m., your chest tightens before ordinary things, and 'relax' has become the least helpful word in the language. It is one of the most common reasons people reach out, and one of the most responsive to counselling.

Signs it might be time to talk

  • Racing or looping thoughts that resist being put down
  • Restlessness, a tight chest, or a stomach that keeps score
  • Avoiding calls, decisions, or situations 'until you feel ready'
  • Trouble falling asleep because the mind won't close its tabs
  • Irritability that arrives faster than it used to
  • Needing constant reassurance, then doubting it anyway

These signs are informational, not a diagnosis. Only a qualified professional, in conversation with you, can assess what's going on.

How counselling helps

  • Understand your anxiety's pattern — triggers, spirals, and exits
  • Learn practical, evidence-based tools to calm body and mind
  • Gently face avoided situations at a pace you control
  • Build a relationship with uncertainty that isn't a fight
